About Me
ABOUT ME
Hi, my name is Jules Dharma, I am painter and potter, an artist of many talents.I’ve been an artist all my life, a painter for over 20 years. I find Inspiration in the Energy I Feel and Live. I started drawing when I was very young and took a few classes along the way. When I got to college, I became a little more serious about my path and decided to finish a 2 year degree in Art with the intentions of continuing on to CCS a prestigious art school in Detroit.I was accepted into CCS but was not able to finish because of money reasons. A few years before this, I began to get tattooed and was asked by the shop I was receiving my work at, if I wanted to work there. At that point the timing was not right for me, I really wanted to finish school.So in 1992 after I was accepted into CCS, and took a few classes, and after the money wasn’t available, I decided to get into tattooing. I apprenticed for a short time and then within 2 years had my own amazing studio with 2 partners. After our third year, the shop had to close due to a partnership issue. Well, Live and Learn.That was back in November 1999. I really loved tattooing. Although the love for tattooing was there, I decided to step away from it. At that point I had been tattooing for 6 years. I really had a wake up call on all levels after the partnership fell apart. My life was evolving on all levels at a lightning speed rate.I took a few classes in stained glass to get back into art in a different way.Then from the suggestion of a friend I started painting again.It wasn’t too long before I had a gallery showing, that was in April of 2005.There I started selling my works, which brings us to when I started throwing pottery. In 2008 I was looking for something else. I was a little tired of painting, and decided to take a pottery class. I found out I was good at throwing, more importantly I really liked it. Since then everything has evolved even more.I now have a small studio in my house where I create from start to finish all of my pottery.I throw mainly in brown stoneware which are medium and high fire clays.I create pottery that is beautiful and functional. The glazes I use are non-toxic and food safe when fired.When packaging my works for shipment, I re-use packing materials when available.In cases where there is not enough packing material to re-use, I buy biodegradable bubble wrap. I’ve learned a lot through my 42 years on this planet and I pride myself in throwingand creating works of art with Love, Compassion, Integrity and Honesty. I am a being that is awake on all levels, and I feel that this energy comes through in what I create and how I live. Hello, Here is my Price list for Custom Made to Order Just for You Pottery :) All Custom Pottery takes between 4-6 weeks to complete from throwing to firing , glazing and then refiring. :) 1. Custom Stoneware Mugs with Thumb Rest $40, this includes up to 3 different colors of non-toxic food safe glazes. To include initials on the front of the mug it is $5extra. To include a name or word up to 5 letters is $10.2. Custom Large Stoneware Dog Bowls Approximately 10 Cups or 80 ounces are $85. This includes up to 3 different colors of non-toxic food safe glazes3. Custom Stoneware Noodle Bowls are $35 and include up to 2 different non-toxic food safe glazes.4. Other Custom Stoneware Bowls range from $35-65These include up to 2-3 different non-toxic food safe glazes.5. Custom Stoneware Plates and Platters are $35-$100 and include up to 4 different colors non-toxic food safe glazes. Please e-mail me with inquiries as there are many glaze choices and possible sizes for my pottery. Also, have a look through the menu above under bowls, mugs, cups, etc. for ideas.
